MiYOSMART spectacle lenses and MiSight contact lenses are clinically proven to slow the advance of short-sightedness in children.

Short-sightedness, or myopia, is a common eye condition that makes distance vision blurry. It usually starts in childhood and gets progressively worse until the child stops growing. Although there is currently no cure for myopia, advances in lens technology mean that we can now prescribe spectacle lenses or contact lenses which can slow down this progression as your child ages.

Myopia usually begins in childhood and is more common in children who have a myopic parent, although sometimes there is no family history. Other influencing factors are ethnicity, environment and spending increased amounts of time doing near tasks, including using smartphones, tablets and computers.

MiYOSMART is the safe, easy to use, effective non-invasive way to manage myopia in children. MiYOSMART spectacle lenses are clinically proven to slow the progression of short-sightedness in children. A two year trial showed that myopia progression in participants using MiYOSMART lenses was reduced by an average of 60% .

The lenses provide vision correction so the wearer will experience comfortable vision in daily wear. All this whilst working to reduce the progression of short-sightedness. They are easy to adapt to and are suitable for full time daily wear for a wide range of activities.

This product has been produced in response to the increasing levels of myopia and of high myopic prescriptions.

All participants who completed the 2-year trial wearing MiYOMART lenses with D.I.M.S* technology had myopia progression reduced by on average 60%.

Research conducted by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University showed that myopia progression can be managed by providing clear vision and constant myopic defocus simultaneously.

While ordinary spectacles and contact lenses can help you child see clearly, they cannot slow down the progression of myopia. They will need stronger prescriptions as they continue to grow.
